Jodi Rubin

Before I began my teaching career, I worked for Fox Sports Network in Ad Sales. After a year in Ad Sales, I knew it was not for me so my grandfather suggested I look into teaching. Eleven years later and here I am :). I started teaching over ten years ago in Queens, New York. I taught special education for over 8 years as well as Literacy Through Music and Art, in New York. In the past two years, I taught 5th grade in Wake County.

My objective as a teacher has always been to provide students with the opportunity to learn, imagine, explore, and create. I believe when students study topics that are relevant to their own lives and that of their community, there is an intrinsic motivation to learn and succeed.
